Feedback from First Milestone Presentation

After presenting my ideas to the class, I have received feedback which will help guide me and my project forward. My ideas have become more focused and I now have a clearer idea as to what I want to create for my final project.

I received positive feedback for my research into the 'Going the Distance' and 'Yes Man' opening credits. Although they are two extremely different concepts, they both had a strong and recognisable theme. After careful consideration, I have decided to focus on the 'Yes Man' credits, and create a variety of products that will hopefully have a strong, consistent and easily recognisable theme and style.

Reviewing of the Brief

I decided that now was a good time to review the brief to make sure that I am completing the client's needs and done what they asked for. This means that for my first client meeting, they are more likely to be satisfied with the progress I have made so far.

The piece consists of a series of animated titles (in this case things like "3D Animation", "Sound Studio" and the suchlike)
All of my design ideas are animated, I have decided to use Adobe After Effects and hand drawn designs in Adobe Illustrator to make sure that the final version is as uncompressed as possible.

Each title has to be animated matching the style of a movie from the particular studio you are pitching to - so you need to pick a studio and research their style and cater to it.
I have made sure that all my design ideas match the style of the films I have chosen. Some have been adapted slightly, i.e main aspects of the opening have been picked out and exaggerated, or some parts have been changed to fit in culturally. The logos I have designed are in the style as my chosen studio.

Selecting films that can be modified in an interesting way, can be adaptable to your message, but still needs to be recognisable as the film in you have chosen to replicate in the time you have available.
The styles for my films are so individually strong and recognisable, yet can be also be adapted in terms of movement. In the 'Yes Man' opening credits I can play around with orientation of text, colours, timing of paint splattering. In the 'Number 23' title, I can experiment with the way the camera jolts all the time, or which words I want the blood to seep through. Finally in 'The Going The Distance' opening credits, I have changed the landmarks, where I want the lines to move and flow into.

The titles "may" be subject to change - so you need to build sequences in a flexible manner to allow for replacements to be fit in should the client studio decide to change them last minute.
I will make sure that I will build my project in layers, saving multiple versions so that animations, text and other aspects can easily be modified with the lowest rendering time.
